So as soon as I got back I decided to order some photobooks with pictures of my seven month backpacking trip. I’ve done my South America one, I’ve done a part 1 of my Europe escapades and now I’m finally getting around to doing the part 2.
I just get so nostalgic looking at my pictures. I really did have the time of my life and I wish I was still traveling. These are my amazing American, Portuguese, and Australian friends.
IF YOU EVER HAVE THE CHANCE TO TRAVEL PLEASE DO IT. You will have the time of your life and learn so much about yourself.

Reflection on traveling.
Its funny because I traveled for 7 months and then I made quite a few side trips that weren’t part of the plan. I went to Morocco, Sweden and Turkey on top of all the countries I had originally planned. The ones that weren’t on my original itinerary turned out to be my favorite.
I don’t know if it was because it was such a culture shock being in Marrakesh or Istanbul, but I fell in love and it was amazing. The daily life there is so vastly different than my normal routine that it genuinely intrigued me and made me want to learn more about their culture.
I mean South America sort of reminded me of Mexico and Central America, and I had been to Europe before, so I wasn’t that shocked or whatever. I just loved the hustle and bustle of the huge cities in Morocco and Turkey.
Taxi drivers drove wove through traffic in rickety taxis in Marrakesh and in Turkey there was so much traffic it took 60 minutes to get to the center of town when it would take 15 with no traffic. And OMG don’t get me started on the Bosphorous. That shit is BEAUTIFUL. I could definitely see myself living in Istanbul for a while. Shame on me for not studying abroad and thanks to Erik for studying abroad there because if he wasn’t I never would have experience the awesomeness of Turkey.
Ugh, I am such a lucky person to have been able to experience awesome shit.
If you ever have the chance to visit Morocco or Turkey do so! Everyone should travel! Let me know if you have any questions about plane tickets and hostels and shit because its definitely not as expensive as you think!

There’s the English word wanderlust, but fernweh is more than “a strong impulse to wander”. It’s that, and being homesick for places you have never been; needing to go to new places, to travel.
